PROJECT //  01

REM have delivered an energy saving of 18.5% for a further education provider within the North West.

REM LINK was the first port of call for our client, with the initial enquiry relating to environmental alarm notification and escalation. REM plugged the site into our cloud and engineered the alarms the client required.

Following our initial success with the alarms, REM LINK was further deployed to optimise the existing HVAC by pulling back additional Building Management System (BMS) points along with the expansion of monitored points,

 

REM LINK highlighted the boilers in hand and the VT circuit optimising on to the maximum allowed optimisation time period of 6 hours regardless of external temperatures.

 

REM attended site for further investigation, whilst onsite the boilers where out back to automatic control and our engineer found the sensor which controlled the optimisation was located in a room with the radiators turned off.

Along with some additional software changes the building environment conditions where improved whilst driving a 18.5% energy saving.

 

REM LINK has now been further deployed to help identify opportunities and maintain the savings already delivered.

This case study shows how simple remote monitoring can help make savings on energy to spend capital on the real things which matter. 

PROJECT //  02

REM were tasked with carrying out energy saving initiatives across a distribution network for a large high street retailer 

A test site was chosen and a no cost survey was carried out for the client

The findings of the initial survey identfied several opportunities which were then presented to the client 

 

REM Link was utilised to provide energy alarms across the trial site to identify when items of plant were running out of sync.

 

REM also carried out sofware modifications to update the BMS strategy to demand led control from time clock control.

REM installed Co2 monitoring to enable the AHU's to run only when there was a heating demand or fresh air make up was required 

 

Below is a shot of the energy savings from 1 AHU, this site had 6 AHU's running the same strategy and had been since they were installed 10+ years ago!

 

This study shows the savings that can be made with simple low cost solutions utilsing the advancements in software design from 10 years ago and deploying  REM LINK
